Checklist

Compute a background check to see whether you know anyone in common.

Make a mental note of the length and present status of past relationships.

Is he emotionally damaged from a past relationship?

Learn what he does for a living, and how successful he is.

Get a handle on his earnings capability and professional stature.

Determine whether he has a sense of humor.

Find out who his friends are. Are they the type of people you would like to be associated with?

Does he have “baggage,” such as children, alimony, dependent relatives, pets, debt, or pending litigation?

What are his overall likes and dislikes?

Is he a positive person, one who sees the glass as always half full?
